How To Convert Video Into A Compatible Format
Video formats can be complex, and we do our best to ensure that your videos look great on Instagram while preserving quality. However, you may notice slight differences when viewing your video in the Storrito editor because web browsers don’t support all video formats. To keep quality loss minimal, Storrito uses your original video format when preparing the final post for Instagram.
While we cover many cases, there may be rare formats or settings we don’t fully support.
If you encounter issues, the standard tool for converting videos is ffmpeg. With the following command, ffmpeg will convert your original.mp4 file to a compatible format, saving it as converted.mp4 in the same folder:
The default settings of ffmpeg make the video widely compatible for most browsers, Instagram, and more. If you experience any issues in Storrito, try converting the video and uploading as converted.mp4.
If you don't feel comfortable using the command line, try Handbrake, a user-friendly video conversion tool that also uses ffmpeg under the hood. You can download it here.
To convert a video with Handbrake, first click Open Source:
Afterwards, enter a file name and choose the folder where the converted video should be stored:
Then, click Start:
You will find the converted.mp4 in the folder you have selected
Upload this video to Storrito in place of your original video file
