Connection Troubleshooting

Stuck at the password reset screen/multiple password reset prompts

When does this happen?

This issue often arises when you have the Instagram app open on your phone during the connection process.

If you tap "This was me" while Storrito is waiting for a two-factor authentication (2FA) code, it can cause multiple password reset requests.

What to do:

Start a new connection attempt and do not open the Instagram app on your phone.
Follow the connection instructions on Storrito and enter your 2FA code when requested.

Usually, one of two things will happen:

Instagram prompts you to set a new password. Enter a new password, and you should be good to go. Note that you will need to log in again on your smartphone due to the password change.
Instagram accepts the connection without issue, and you're good to go!

Unable to Log Into Instagram on Your Phone After Connecting to Storrito

When does this happen?

This can occur if you changed your Instagram password during the connection process with Storrito.

What to do:

Click Forgot password on the Instagram app to receive a login link via email.
Tap the link in your email to log in again.

Instagram account constantly disconnects from Storrito

What to do:

Avoid planning repetitive content (i.e. spamming Instagram stories).
Remember that changing your Instagram password will automatically disconnect Storrito.
Approve Storrito's connection to your account (usually listed as a Galaxy S20) by following these steps in the Instagram app:

Go to Profile Settings → Accounts Center → Password and Security → Where You’re Logged In → Review Login Activity → Select "This Was Me"

If none of the steps above help, consider installing our Storrito Relay App and reconnect using your own device as a proxy server.

"Password is wrong" error, but you're sure it's correct

What to do:

At the end of the connection set-up process, select email-connect (second option below the Instagram login field) and follow the on-screen instructions.
If that doesn't work, reset your Instagram password and try again.

"Two-factor code is wrong" error, but you're sure it's correct

Why does this happen?

This seems to be a bug on Instagram's side and can also occur in the Instagram app itself.

What to do:

Open the Instagram app and go to Settings.
Open the Meta Accounts Center.
Tap Password and securitySecurity Checkup.
Go to Two-factor authenticationAuthentication app.
Follow the instructions to set up 2FA.
If 2FA is already active, deactivate and reactivate it again.

Not receiving the two-factor authentication code via SMS

Why does this happen?

Instagram limits the number of SMS they send.

Additionally, they tend not to send an SMS if the Instagram app is open on another device.

What to do:

Close the Instagram app on your smartphone, ensuring it's not running in the background.
Start a new connection process in Storrito - the SMS should now be sent.

If the SMS still doesn't arrive, switch to a different 2FA method, such as an authentication app or WhatsApp:

Open the Instagram app, go to Settings, and open the Meta Accounts Center.
Go to Password and securityTwo-factor authentication → your account → Authentication app.
Check the box for Authentication app and follow Instagram's instructions.
Start a new connection process on Storrito.
