How To Check Your Instagram Account Status

Your account status on Instagram determines which features you can use, how reliably content is published, and whether third-party tools like Storrito can continue posting without issues.

Why is Account Status Important?

Storrito posts on your behalf, but Instagram still evaluates activity as if it came from you. To maintain a healthy account status on Instagram, please bear in mind the following best practices:

  • Keep the devices running the same Instagram account to a minimum (maximum 3-5 devices per Instagram account)
  • Avoid logging in/out repeatedly on different devices, including Storrito
  • Avoid undertaking security setting changes during the times of your scheduled posts
  • Check account status if posting suddenly fails

Regularly checking your account status helps you:

  • Spot restrictions early
  • Understand why features may not be working
  • Prevent temporary blocks or permanent limitations

What Warnings on Your Account Mean

Instagram uses account status to assess trust and behaviour over time. If you see warnings or notices, they usually fall into one of these categories:

1. Removed Content

Instagram removed a post or story because it violated Community Guidelines (e.g. copyright, spam-like content, or misleading behaviour).

What to do:

  • Review what was removed
  • Avoid reposting similar content
  • Wait! Most account flags expire over time if behaviour improves

2. Feature Restrictions

Certain features (posting, messaging, linking, or additional device access) may be temporarily limited.

Common causes:

  • Repeated failed logins
  • Too many logins in a short time
  • Automated or spam-like activity
  • Rapid posting from multiple tools or devices (e.g. posting via Storrito and mobile simultaneously)

What to do:

  • Stop repeated login attempts, including connection attempts via Storrito!
  • Avoid switching devices excessively
  • Give the account time to cool down before attempting further logins (24-72 hours)

3. Reduced Recommendation Eligibility

Your content may not be shown as widely, even if it’s still visible to followers.

What to do:

  • Focus on consistent, original content
  • Avoid engagement bait or repetitive posting
  • Post manually for a short period if issues persist
